Slide the City St. Louis

June 15, 2015 by Melissa Leave a Comment

Slide the City is coming to St. Louis and this will be a fun and memorable event to do with the kids!

slide the city logo

On Saturday, July 11th, Market Street will be transformed as participants ride inflatables down this giant slide spanning three city blocks. With music, local vendors, and giveaways, this family friendly event promises to be a highlight of the summer. My readers SAVE with promo code USFAMstl — Get your tickets here!

Slide the City
A portion of the event proceeds will be donated to Saint Louis Area FoodBanks. The St. Louis Area FoodBank feeds the hungry by distributing food through a network of more than 500 partner agencies and engages the community in the fight against hunger. Participants can purchase a one, three or unlimited slide pass. Tickets are now available, starting at $13.

Slide the City
Is there an age or height limit?

All who are over 46 inches tall and over 5 years old are invited to slide, but remember if you’re under 18 you’ll need to get a sign off from your legal guardians. For safety reasons, all children must ride on their own tube. But remember, we do have a lane just for kids and their parents.

Are there group rates available?

If you have a group with 20 or more participants send us an email.

What do you do to address water conservation?
Water conservation is also a priority at our events. We strive to have zero environmental impact on the community. The Slide was designed to have zero water loss, and it treats and recycles the water safely and efficiently throughout the day. When permitted, we donate the water back to the community. Methods of disposal include local reclamation centers, parks, golf courses and other places dependent upon local regulations.

Don’t forget, for a LIMITED TIME, my readers will SAVE $5 with promo code USFAMstl!

Everything You Need to Know About Taking Kids to a Cardinals Game

June 15, 2015 by Melissa Leave a Comment

I’m firmly in the camp that you must take your child to see a St. Louis Cardinals game at least once! We first brought our son when he was 2 years old and not again until he was 6 years old. It was two completely different experiences but both a ton of fun! It can be stressful taking kids to Busch Stadium so here is some information to make sure you have a good time!

Tips on Taking Kids to a St. Louis Cardinals Game

Cost

The price of seats vary greatly but I don’t think there’s really a bad seat in the whole stadium! Of course, the closer to the action, the better the kids may pay attention. If your child is age 3 and under, they do not require a ticket for entry into the ballpark. However, only fans entering the ballpark with a ticket will receive the promotion or giveaway item, if applicable.

View the schedule and buy tickets for an upcoming St. Louis Cardinals game.

What To Do

Besides watching the baseball game, there’s a lot to do! The Family Pavilion is located on Level 1 between Gates 5 and 6, on the northeast corner of Busch Stadium. It opens 1 1/2 hours prior to each game and continues until the end of the game.

All guests with a day-of-game ticket are admitted to this area free of charge; however, there is a fee to participate in some of the games and activities.

The following are some of the activities that are featured in the Family Pavilion:

  • Batting Cage
  • Speed Pitch
  • T-Ball Cages
  • Soft-Play Play Area (Socks Required)
  • XBOX Video game area

There is also a Build-A-Bear located inside Ford Plaza. There, little ones can build their own Fredbird or Clydesdale!

Food

If you’re looking to save money, you can actually bring your own food and drinks {no alcohol, glass bottles, cans or hard coolers} into Busch Stadium. I highly recommend buying water or soda outside of the parks. There’s also bags of peanuts sold outside the stadium if you’d rather buy them for cheaper, too.

New for 2017: The only outside drinks allowed in will be non-alcoholic, in clear plastic, factory-sealed containers no larger than 2 liters. No outside cups (e.g. drinks from gas stations or fast food restaurants), mugs or thermoses of any kinds will be allowed.

There’s so much delicious food sold at Busch Stadium that you’re sure to find something your child loves – from hot dogs and popcorn to ice cream and cotton candy! It’s a must to get your child an ice cream in a baseball cap!

Ice Cream at Busch Stadium

Tip – if your have a milk monster like me, you’re going to have a hard time finding a cup of milk so you might want to bring your own or get a different drink.

Strollers

Guests with strollers are welcome in Busch Stadium; however, the use of strollers should not interfere with other guests or block entryways or aisles. Strollers should be stored under the guest’s seat or may be checked at Guest Relations.

Nursing Mothers

I’ve never had to nurse at the game but the St. Louis Cardinals states that a mother may nurse her child in any public location where she is otherwise authorized to be. If the mother requests private accommodations the mother and child should be escorted to a family restroom or First Aid. Hopefully the Cardinals will get a Nursing Suite like the Cincinnati Reds did…isn’t it amazing?

Restrooms and Changing Stations

You’re usually able to walk a few sections and be able to find a restroom. All restrooms are equipped with baby changing stations. The stadium is also equipped with Family Restrooms, which are restricted to families only. The Family Restrooms provide private areas for guests with children and offer baby changing tables and a room for nursing mothers.

Lost Child

We hope this never happens, but if you lose your child, head to a Guest Relation Center to report them. Guest Relations staff will work closely with all game personnel to help locate the missing individual(s).

Cardinals Kids Club

For kids under 13, they can join the Cardinals Kids Club! Benefits include:

  • Members get a duffle bag, hat, lanyard, lapel pin, and a Fredbird action figure and more.
  • Two (2) Cardinals Tickets
  • Access to a members-only party at Busch Stadium on September 10th – complete with games, autographs, snacks, fun… and Fredbird!

First Game Certificate

After you’ve brought your little one to their very first St. Louis Cardinals game, don’t forget to print up the First Game Certificate so they [and you!} will never forget!
