In the tradition of log and barn raisings of yesteryear, a log raising event will be hosted locally on August 27, 2016, from 9 am to 2 pm in Wildwood. The free event will be held on the site of Happy Hounds Playground, a dog park opening in spring of 2017 at 2448 Pond Road.

Attendees will be able to watch as the exterior Missouri Oak log walls of the Happy Hounds main building are erected. They will be able to see how the logs are stacked and sealed and how the T&G window and door frames are installed. Staff will be available to answer any questions you may have. This is such a fun event for any builders you may have out there!

Hibbs General Contracting & Gastineau Log Homes are hosting the event as they partner to build the membership office for the Happy Hounds facility. When completed, the private membership dog park, located on 10 acres of land, will feature splash pads, playground equipment for dogs of all sizes, a swimming pond, nature trails, paw washing stations, and more.

Stop by for a short visit or stay all day! Make sure to bring lawn chairs and dress for the weather. As this site is under construction, muddy conditions are a possibility. Free parking is available across the street at First Baptist Church, 2470 Pond Road. Refreshments will be provided for those that attend, including donuts and coffee in the morning, and hot dogs, chips, and cookies in the afternoon.

Hibbs General Contracting & Gastineau Log Homes staff will be available to answer any questions visitors may have about the log building construction process for commercial and residential projects.

You can check out the event over on Facebook for the latest info on the park and event.

Visit Warm Springs Ranch to See the Clydesdales

March 24, 2016 by Melissa Leave a Comment

Are you looking for a fun day trip to do with the kids? On Saturday, March 26th, Warm Springs Ranch will kick off its eighth season! Wondering what Warm Springs Ranch is? It’s home to more than 70 Clydesdales and sits on 300-plus acres of land, allowing plenty of room for the Budweiser Clydesdales to exercise and roam.

WSR-Yearlings-1024x712

Warm Springs Ranch is located in Boonville, Missouri and guests can tour the property’s vast countryside along with the 25,000-square-foot breeding barn, veterinary lab and pastures with customized, walk-in shelters. The experience also includes ample time to learn the history of the Budweiser Clydesdales and the meticulous care and attention that goes into raising them. Dedicated staff is on-site around the clock to ensure the highest quality of care for each horse and that all new baby Clydesdales born at the Ranch are welcomed into the world in comfort and safety.

“Each year we look forward to sharing our passion for raising some of America’s most historic icons by offering our guests an interactive, behind-the-scenes look at where it all begins,” said John Soto, Supervisor of Warm Spring Ranch. “We allow our visitors to see first-hand what goes into raising these gentle-giants – from a foal’s first step to marching in a national parade as part of the world-famous hitch team – and we’re excited to continue this tradition for the eighth consecutive year.”

Visitors this season will also have the opportunity to meet Warm Springs Ranch’s first-born foal of 2016, Mac, who grabbed the hearts of America when he was born in January. Just a few months old, Mac has made his home at Warm Springs Ranch along with a handful of other newborn foals. During the 2016 foaling season, the farm expects more than 20 baby Clydesdales will be born. For updates on the Ranch and to meet new foals year-round, follow Warm Springs Ranch on Facebook and Twitter.
